A Little Piece of Heaven...Awww!
It has been awhile since my last post due to the fact that nothing struck me to write. However, Thursday July 9, I drove to the beach near Jacksonville, NC to meet a friend who was down on vacation. These 2 nights and 3 days were the best of my summer yet! How can I describe "paradise?" William and Garland Motel is located on the southern Outer Banks of NC nestled in a small community known as Salter Path just on the other side of Emerald Isle. How I wish it were the Emerald Isle of Ireland, but this was just as sweet! A family owned motel, 100% grade by the state for cleanliness, private path to the beach, cheap efficiency rooms, great seafood, no busyness as is Myrtle Beach, nice cool nights with the breeze blowing through my hair, and oh so quiet! This was the best place for peace and quiet. It is in my terms "A diamond in the rough." My friend Jim and I came across this place online a few weeks ago. The owners are so friendly, that they told us to stay longer. If it weren't for Jim flying back to Wisconsin on Sunday and my own appointments this week in preparation for the big city of DC, I would have stayed for the rest of the month. It was just a little piece of heaven as far out as one can get from the mainland to the Atlantic Ocean. SWEET!! I will return to this spot for future therapeutic relaxation!

South Carolina in the News...AGAIN!
Why shouldn't SC be in the news more? As if the stimulus money wasn't enough, now our Gov. decides that the state should be slapped again. This time by his own immoral judgment. Obviously, he wasn't too worried about the stimulus money because he had much more on his mind. He was trying to figure out how to use his fame and glory to map out a "hike" in the Appalachian Mountains over Father's Day weekend. The "hike" didn't even involve his own family. Somehow, being the head of state must give you the right to "hike" all the way to Argentina via Atlanta Airport. All the while thinking you wouldn't get caught. Now may Asheville Airport would have been a better choice, being small in size and not much heard of in the news world.
For reasons that I will state later, Mr. Sandford has never been a favorite on my list of people. His out right bash on public education is ridiculous. You don't want to be on the wrong side of a teacher. Teaching is a profession and yes, I hope for God's Sake he didn't use our state money to fund this seven day hiatus to Argentina that has undoubtedly put us back in the lime light. My stomach is reeling from this story. He is not Pr-Family nor Pro-Public Education. He is Pro-Sanford. My heart goes out to his wife and sons. She needs to take him to the cleaners!
With this in mind...I might just take a "hike" downtown to have a said "drink" or two with friends. Drinks should be on the state tonight! :)

Medical Update
Latest update is that I have a hiatal hernia with acid reflux to mix in with the other GI related issues. How wonderful! I still claim that chronic appendicitis is the main problem! But, who am I? Just the person who happens to know my own body!

Me...have ADD??
Why would there be any reason for me to have ADD? No, I'm not talking about math addition here. Attention deficit. I figured that this common malady was in my life, but don't tell my mother. She totally disagrees that ADD is a component of who I am. The funny part of this story is that a friend came over to make fresh chicken salad for me today and while he was chopping up grapes and apples, I was running all over the kitchen changing subjects and trying to do 10 things at once in 5 minutes. He pointed this out to me, because he also is ADD and was able to keep up with every part of our conversation. Thank you Lord for allowing someone else to realize this too and that it's not just me freaking out! :)

Medical Tests
For the past 8 months the medical industry has been receiving a lot of $$$$ from me due to unknown abdominal pain. Still no answer. Something that I am learning to cope with on a daily basis. Didn't I just go down this same road 3 years ago resulting in female surgery? Now it's my stomach and no matter what I eat whether good or bad it has been a nightmare! This past Friday was test #5 or 6 since January...can't remember at this point. The lovely "beverage" that I had to consume in addition to the IV and dye made me sick! They didn't tell me until after the scan that it was a laxative type of drink. GRRR!!! Next Friday is the final medical test since the only area that hasn't been tested is my upper GI. It's a wonder why I can't afford nice vacations, because all of the doctors and medical staff are on them with the $$$ I fork out. Thankfully, insurance does help or I would be dead for not even coming near being able to pay a dime. The GI doctor told me that he doesn't have an answer. I will almost say that it's chronic appendicitis, but it never wants to act up at the oportune time while I have an appointment. Go figure!

Friends
Thanks to a dear friend, I have decided to establish a blog of my own. Hopefully this will allow some creative energy to flow and be an outlet for relaxation.
During the past several months, I have been connected with friends from high school and college. Interesting how in a span of 20 years reconnecting has become fun with the help of Facebook. I eagerly await reuniting with these dear friends in the coming weeks and months. Gone are the days of high school popularity contests which in which many classmates knew me as "very" introverted. Somehow, with age I have been able to break out of this shell and get to know friends again without the shyness that accompanied me in years past.
As of this writing, I am sitting in a coffee shop with two dear friends who I have known since the mid-90's. They have become like family. Hanging out with our laptops in a nice quiet place is relaxing. We laugh and joke about events that occurred in the past and those occurring at the present moment. They tease me about my Facebook status "looking for a good man who can grill me a great steak." Without friends who will poke fun and tease me, life would not be fun!
Cheers to all of my friends far and near. Thank you for always being here for me! Muah!
HUGS to Sandy for sending me her blog which enticed me to begin my own! :)
